Principal Paw Notes!

Principal ComeforoDear Stuart-Hobson Middle School Students, Staff, Families, and the Capitol Hill Cluster Community,

This time of year, school principals will not stop talking about two things: enrollment and testing. While these topics are among the more burdensome and tedious parts of the work, they are still immensely important.

Enrollment is an indication of family satisfaction and community trust. We are happy to note that more families than last year applied to Stuart-Hobson via the lottery. By enrolling early, it allows for us to properly plan for next school year. If we know exactly who is coming, we are able to craft a thoughtful master schedule that meets the needs of our students. Right now, we are 31% enrolled, which is a good pace, but I know we can do better! Please do your part and come to enroll.

Testing is often a source of anxiety among educators and students alike. We hope that we have fostered a positive testing culture this school year by both properly preparing students for testing during the school year, and ensuring a smooth and worry-free testing environment in small advisory groups. Now, it's simply time for our students to shine. Our teachers and students have put in meaningful work throughout the entire year, and I am confident that they are well-prepared.
