Comprehensive School Plan

At Stuart-Hobson Middle School, we work to make sure every student feels loved, challenged, and prepared to positively influence society and thrive in life. In School Year 2017-2018, Stuart-Hobson Middle School’s leaders and staff are focused on four big areas:
  • Social Emotional Learning: Our goal is to increase student satisfaction at Stuart-Hobson this school year by implementing restorative justice circles to address student discipline, implement monthly pep assemblies and town halls, and more.
  • Literacy: Through a 40-book challenge, proactive feedback to teachers on planning practices, and monthly tracking of student writing data, one of our literacy goals is to increase the number of students who meet expected growth on the literacy assessment.
  • Math: To ensure that our students leave middle school on a trajectory to be successful in mathematics at the high school level, one of our goals is to increase expected growth on the math assessment. We will give proactive feedback to teachers on planning practices, schedule students for math resource courses, and more.
  • Extra Support for Students: To decrease the percentage of students who are below basic on reading assessments and decrease the percentage of students who are below average on the math assessment, we will identify students most in need and implement Saturday Academy.
