Principal Paw Notes!

Principal ComeforoDear Members of the Stuart-Hobson Middle School Community,

We are on the cusp of several consecutive choppy weeks of school, with each week shortened due to parent teacher conferences and holidays from now through Thanksgiving. This week may be the most unique I've encountered, with a normal school day tomorrow before a break again until Wednesday.

Did you know that some students get just as much learning done outside of the classroom as inside of the classroom? Students are making good progress in our 40-Book Challenge, and we know the power that sustained independent reading can have on a child's intellectual development. Additionally, we just launched this year's math challenge, using ALEKS. We are challenging students to pass as many lessons as they can per week, spending ~30 minutes per day on the program. Teachers that meaningfully push their students to do these programs have stronger results. Every class is dependent on students being able to read and #AllTeachersAreMathTeachers, so please continue to support these initiatives!

 Sincerely,

Kristofer.Comeforo
